Re: How about this potential starting O and D lineup in 2008?

I see you have us drafting Rivers and Sweed. I assume Sweed in the second(?). That would be ideal if we upgrade the TE position, which you have us doing.

Now, if we pulled off some sort of trade for Rodgers, do you think he would be better than Corey Williams? Not that it wouldn't be nice to pull off a trade, but what do you think the financial drawbacks would be? What do we give up? Does Rodgers need extended? Can we still sign a Wilford and Smith?

Maybe. But will we? We do, in all likely hood, have to extend a contract or two. Or three. We will see. But, as Veggie said, a center would be nice.

Well, I really hope we upgrade Barnes. Honestly, I don't think I've seen him play (or payed attention to it if I have), but I'm hoping for Owen Schmitt late third or fourth round. If he is there, I don't know who else you could draft at that point that would come in as the projected starter. Especially if we upgrade other priorities first (like I think can, should, and will happen). Either way, this is what I typed about three weeks ago if you are interested. If you notice, I have us with a true fullback, and I mention an upgrade at center would be nice ....

I would really like to see us keep Bryan Scott, he made some tremendous plays against the run this year, and was a solid special teams contributer, i wonder if we will keep 5 safeties again this year..

That thread is weird too, because I started it, yet a reply went above my initial post. Clearly some different things materialized in the past few weeks. Like us signing a FB, and receiving TE, and Hargrove failing a test. Or trade rumors surfacing. But, I was projecting full roster depth.

And, is that a Losman for Rodgers trade you got going on there? I have mixed emotions on that one. But a player of Rodger's caliber would be ideal. I'm get long winded and I have a poker game starting.

OK, quickest poker game ever. Who is Clevelands center? I believe there is one good free agent center that would be a clear upgrade, but I forgot his name.

Oh, and appearently we have an extra 13 million to work with ....
I'm still working on updating the 2007 cap page and getting enough info to post the 2008 page. The last couple of years it's been very difficult to get the necessary info to post an accurate page. Public sources (i.e. ESPN, Buffalo News, etc) have basically stopped posting contract details other than salaries. My other source

i like that, or many other combinations possible.

i think we could also draft a CB, DE, or OG/C with a 2nd or third and have that lineup. maybe not a starter in 08, but a future talent at least, but i do think we can draft a guy in the first 100 picks who would start for us at C or RG

Cleveland has Hank Fraley and LeCharles Bentley, neither are FAs this year. LeCharles might be released, but I would assume if he is released it means his career is done. Fraley was re-upped last offseason.

Are you thinking of ex Browns C Jeff Faine?

Well honestly, I'm not to sure. I am no center guru. But, I believe one of the FA centers was a pro bowl alternate. Was that Faine?
