It's a base to build on that's for sure and with any luck the O-line will continue to grow & we'll begin to force more plays downfield.

I personally think that next season is a playoff type year if we address some of our most obvious immediate needs of another top notch WR / Big and rugged TE. Here's to hoping for all of us.

I think you are reading the record book wrong. It indicates our defense recorded 12 sacks in 1982- second fewest by a defense in NFL history, right behind the Colts (11 that year)

And yet, we still ranked 13th in attempts per sack. Hmmm.

And yet, we still ranked 2nd to last in passing TDs. Hmmm.

Kind of like finding a silver dime while standing in a porta-potty cleaning it out in sneakers and a T-shirt. :D

1st off Kelly was known for throwing screen passes. 2nd its better than.

Regardless, 1982 was the strike shortened season, so of course numbers are going to be lower seeing...there was only 9 games.
