NO. The Giants played a great defensive game, and did enough on O (seems like the way one and only formula they have used throughout history to win their three rings).

They provided proof once again that if you can get enough pressure on Brady, the gaytriots will not win.

remember when the bills had left the field early when henry jones had that phantom pass interference call at the one, and the pats went for 2 when the bills were in the lockerroom. and all the pats fans said we were classless for not benig on the field?

Stupid pats fans, the bills didn't know the refs were just plainly changing the rules as they go along, but the pats, just couldn't take it.

Not even the biggest football upset ever, let alone sports....

Jets in SBII, Rams losing to the Pats are both bigger football upsets.

Biggest sports upset ever...USA over USSR 1980

They didn't choke in the game, but the team was supposedly the best team ever! It was the only team to go 16-0 in the regular season and was the only team to get 18-0. To lose in the Super Bowl is the biggest choke ever. So my answer is HELL YES! :snicker:

I think it is.

The national press and most fans treated this game as a Patriots coronation. We were told to just shut up and crown them, without allowing the game to be played. They were the greatest team ever.

I got your 19-0 right here, Beantown.

No

It was clear that the Pats were running out of steam from mid season onwards.

The key was the last game of the regular season when the Giants realised they could take the Pats.

It just shows what real and proper coaching can achieve.

Do NYG play the Tampa2? I think as teams we get so hung up on certain philosophies that we restrict the ability of our players to .... play.

And their defensive co-ordinator realised there is no need for double coverage on players like Moss all the time if Brady is on his arse.

Ickybaluky
02-04-2008, 06:47 AM
I don't think the Pats choked at all. I think they got beat by a better team.

The key to the game was the Giants pressure up front. They were able to control the LOS, stuff the run game and pressure Brady. The Pats had opportunities to hit plays downfield against the Giants secondary, but the pass rush didn't allow time for those plays to develop. Great job by the Giants.

I think that drive at the end was a career-defining drive by Manning. I've been critical of him in the past, but he came up huge in the playoffs.

Though it disappointing to see them come this far and lose, it was a great season. Now that the offseason is here they have a bunch of things to do, starting first with re-signing Moss.

I know you guys despise the Pats and are thrilled to see them lose, so congrats to you. Enjoy it. I still think it is pretty funny all the drama you guys build into these games. You remind me so much of Red Sox fans.

Thrilled is a understatement, I bet a fortune on the under & the Giants and I am estatic. Them losing after going perfect all season is the greatest stab in the heart that could of come about. Hopefully Bill B. gets suspended for a year and the Pats fall apart when the Bills crush them. These Cheating C-suckers got exactly what they get deserved, tears of pain and anguish.

Different. My point is Red Sox fans over-dramatize to the max and take on a woe -is-me attitude when stuff goes wrong. They think the world is against them. I find it kind of funny. They are just playing games.

I've never denied that there is a lot of arrogance among the fan base. It comes with the winning.

With the Patriots, you have to remember that they were a joke franchise for the bulk of their existence. This was traditionally a Giants area before the Pats (still a lot of Giant fans here), and they were behind the Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics up until the 1990's in terms of relevance. Their recent success has generated a lot of interest and elevated them in the local sports scene, but you are going to get your yahoo-ism.

In that regard, not finishing the deal, you can say that.

But watching the game, it wasn't surprising the Giants were able to win. They were able to put enough pressure up front to stuff the Pats offense, which was no fluke.

If the Pats played poorly I might agree, but they didn't give the game away. The Giants took it. The better team won.

They can always come back and win again next year. They would actually be a feel-good story if that happens, all about overcoming obstacles and returning despite the odds.

That said, it is kind of ironic that a Bills fan would laugh about a team getting close, but not finishing the deal. I mean, I figure you would know what that was all about.

I'll have to rain on your parade on that one. The End Times will intervene, and this stunning victory will be the final NFL Superbowl.

Or, maybe they'll play the next one in Tom Brady's backyard, against all odds...

Besides, if Brady really is the anti-Christ the end of times shouldn't really be something that is a big concern.
