Just from this years draft, the Giants got playmakers.

Here is a list of players who made an impact this year and even in the Superbowl itself:

Aaron Ross, CB -First round '07 (He now starts and is a playmaker, kept Moss in check)
Steve Smith, WR-Second round '07 (He made some big plays, overcame some bad drops, bobble for INT...)
Jay Alford , DT-Third round '07 (Had a huge sack in the 4th quarter)
Zak DeOssie, LB-Fourth round '07 (Solid player for them, was on the field plenty on Sunday)
Kevin Boss, TE- 5th round '07 (Filled in for Shockey very well, had huge reception in Superbowl)
Ahmad Bradshaw, RB-7th round '07 (Bills fans know him well, ran ruckshaw all over us and made some nice gains against the Pats)

See how the Giants got players in numerous positions, drafted in skill positions late and still got some decent value from them. Every single one of these players made impacts to help them win the Superbowl, and it's something that the Bills have been bad at-Getting value from low draft picks. We can't even get decent value from high draft picks.

what do want we had a poster boy from the past as a puppet GM now a financial guy as the GM. and jauron campaigning for a bunch of 225 lbs for his cover 2 D. add in grabbing DT's with no size and one actually starts playing well in mccargo and we refuse to start him.

i truly dont want to be negative but facts are facts. add in we grabbed a nobody in 3rd round this year so we could axe another 1st rounder of ours. but hes the savior.

In all fairness, Moss was open several times...but thanks to the front 4 pressure, Brady didn't have time to throw to him.

Bu that being said, your pt is taken. Ross has been playing well. Corey Webster has finally stepped up (I wanted this guy 2 years ago) and most of the draft picks are performing.

It's that front 4 that makes the Giants who they are though - which is why we need to step up our efforts to improve our front 4. If they don't do anything in FA, then they have to go after Sedrick Ellis - even if it costs us. If they don't, our D will never amt. to much more than what it is right now...31st in the league. :(

Who ever is drafted their DL is an amazing talent evaluator. We need that man.

Bad part is, we're stuck with our DE's as it is right now. Now I have alot of faith in Schobel IF we get the right people next to him. When your DT's arent drawing 2 people or even blocking their own assignment or disrupting, Schobel isnt going to do much. It's the same with Evans. Evans is a great talent but when he's the ONLY guy the opposing team needs to plan for, you can take that single player away and REALLY disrupt things. We NEED a DT. But we have the same talent evaluators as we have the past 2 years that struck our not once, not twice, but 3 times with the D-line. Triplett did nothing. McCargo was no first round pick kind of talent, and he cost us 2 picks, and Kyle Williams has proven he was worth his low draft pick. We struck out, I'm sorry. Donte Whitner is solid at best. I can't help but look at Laron Landry for the Redskins and in his FIRST YEAR, ROOKIE YEAR he's showing that he IS a game changing player and he DOES make a difference in the backfield. We Lynch. Lynch is the ONLY guy who has shown he can be a difference maker in the past 2 drafts and free agency periods. And when youre a poor ass franchise like the Bills, you cant afford to strike out so much in the draft when your whole mantra for survival in this CBA era is building through the draft.

We don't do that in Buffalo.

JP would do no better in NY. They wouldn't even be in the playoffs if he was the QB.

You never know with the right coaching but it matters not now. Edwards is our QB.

If we look at the Giants DL we get this

Strahan (6ft5, 255lbs)
Umenyiora (6ft3, 261lbs)
Tuck (6ft5, 274lbs)

and in the middle you have

Robbins (6ft4, 317lbs)
Cofield (6ft4 306lbs)
Alford (6ft3, 304lbs)

Triplett at 293lbs is too light especially when lined up with Williams at 306lbs or McCargo - that's 24lbs lighter than Robbins/Cofield and the Pats have a smallish OL ... no wonder we are getting bossed at the line of scrimage.

I do think we have a better LB corps though and our secondary when fit is as talented

What is clear though is we have to maximise Day2 of the draft. Under the old arrangement from R4 down we have a R4, two R5, a R6 and two R7 - that's 6 players - in 2007 we draft Wright who is behind Jackson, Wendling who wasn't given any opportunity even with injuries, Schoumann who did nothing and Ah You whose selection was as big a joke as can be seen

We can easily pick up a QB, FB, OL help, and a LB in the later rounds of 2008 and we must approach the draft as if whoever we draft will be on the roster come opening day

All of their DE's could easily play LB. They have athletes that can flat out fly, we have high motored slow guys.

Or you could say that the Giants did what we need to do:

Trade up for the number 1 pick (A QB)
Sign a huge WR upgrade like Plax Burress
Have 2 probowl DE's like Strahan and Osi
Have yet another DE who gets lots of sacks like Tuck

If we could somehow get the DL of the Giants, I would agree, we could get to Brady and may be able to beat the Pats too.

No, their draft moves arent that special at all, I like theres just as much as ours.

And remember that Tuck plays just as much DT as he does DE, they are always moving around DL's and keeping the OL on their feet with blitzes and stunts. You can't mess with that.
