Agent Marvin Demoff, Junior Seau's representative, yesterday termed as inaccurate a published report that linebacker Junior Seau has nixed a deal offered by the Arizona Cardinals.
"That's just totally off," said Demoff.
The agent said Seau, who has been given permission by the Chargers to seek a deal for himself, would be willing to entertain any proposal the Arizona club might make.
"Junior has an open mind, and at the time Arizona is willing to do something, he will sit down and listen," said Demoff.
A Cardinals spokesman on Friday said he is unaware of any bid by the team for Seau. Also on Friday, Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer said he knows of no change in Seau's status.
Any team that would deal for Seau would have to accept his contract, which calls for him to be paid a $2.7 million bonus by April 15.
