    That Eli-to-Tyree play

On Sirius this morning people are trying to come up with a better nickname for that play. So far it's just been casually referred to as The Play.

Callers called in with The Grasp, 1085 (Eli #10 and Tyree #85), The Catch Seen Around the World, The ET Play (again, Eli-Tyree), etc. They all suck. None of that will stick. People are thinking too hard.

Let's see if we can come up with a better one.

    I'll say The Great Escape.

I didn't come here to fight, I hate fighting. Life is way too short to spend it on fighting! Go fight with yourself, one of you will eventually win!

          I like this one:

          THE SHAWSHANK RECEPTION?
Posted by Mike Florio on February 7, 2008, 10:41 a.m.

We’ve been pondering for the past three days a catchy title for the play that was the turning point of Super Bowl XLII, not to mention one of the greatest plays in NFL history.

A reader suggested this one on Tuesday — “The Shawshawk Reception.” We like it, and until someone comes up with something better we’re going to use it.

If you have other ideas, let us know. Hopefully, a couple of them will be good enough for us to steal.

To this point it's the best play I've seen in my life-time considering the situation.

They had a blurb on the radio this morning about one of the oficials for the game and how he's commented that he was a split-second from blowing the play dead and calling 'in the grasp'. Said he was glad he didn't, and it would have been the worst call he's ever made in his career.

Yeah, that was Mike Carey, the head referee. That guy is a great ref, always has been.

' The PLAY ' is good enough for me!
That play IMO is the greatest play that has made me happier in a long time,
                    since the COMEBACK plays!

People aren't giving enough credit to the fumble recovery on the botched handoff. The NE player landed right on it, and the Giants player ripped the ball from him. I thought that play symbolized the game better; the Giants just wanted it more.

However, I'll call the catch "Divine Intervention", or some play on that phrase.

I've seen better, maybe not in the NFL, but in other sports.

Yeah I hear you. But for me the NFL is the only sport I watch.
