If we move losman, a Vet Backup QB suddenly becomes this teams Biggest Priority. More so than WR and DT IMO.

The only real relevance Carr being available has on Buffalo is that it reduces JP Losman's trade value.

I'm just waiting for someone to suggest Joey Harrington...

Carr has been 10 times the bust Losman is. He won't affect JP's trade value at all.

I agree. The only doubt anyone had with Carr's future was that he might just need a change of scenery and that obviously didn't make a difference.

He would be a backup. I don't think we can worry about our backup being great just capable. Might as well just Keep JP.

That might happen for another year.

You gotta be pretty gosh darn terrible to lose your backup job to the 89 year old Testaverde.

Yes JP is the best backup we could have, but I'd rather trade him while we can get value out of him than letting him walk for free next offseason. I'll risk having a less capable backup and bet on Edwards staying healthy. All or nothing.

man has anybody ever got more chances than carr and harrington? their teams stayed with them too long

either one is fine as a career backup but only on a team with an established starter. which means not here

As a season ticket holder of the Panthers who have seen him play a lot this year I can say one thing for certain. Carr absolutely sucks. He is one of the worst QB's I even seen and should be out of the league. He has a decent arm but does not have the mental makeup to be any good.

David Carr reminds me so much of Jim Plunkett and how his career in the NFL started off. Plunkett was drafted by the Patriots and they were horrible! He got knocked around unmercilessly, and was literally on the scrap heap in his early to mid 30's when Oakland came calling! Al Davis hit a grand slam on that project! Plunkett won a Super Bowl title against the Dick Vermeil lead Eagles in 1981, I believe. David Carr's career is eerily similar in that he has endured a great deal of punishment so early in his career. Remember, the latent talent is there, maybe he needs the right team around him in the future! Just a thought?!?!
