Beat me to it! I was wondering if Booker was worth a look as well...

Trent Green, Marty Booker were cut.

"Other notable cuts by the Dolphins included tackle L.J. Shelton and massive defensive tackle Keith Traylor, both of whom were starters.

Miami also waived tackle Anthony Alabi, defensive tackle Anthony Bryant, tackle Marion Dukes, defensive tackle Marquay Love and tackle Joe Toledo."

Why is it that the date to release players and date for start of free agency are over a week apart? So these guys freshly out of work can sweat for a while?

Marty Booker is 31 years old, 6' 210lb. He's got pretty good hands and lots of experience. Maybe not the big red zone target we need but between him and Peerless Price (same age, 5'11" 194 lb), I'd take Booker.

Sure, if you want players who leave the field after one or two series then by all means take the fat ass.

                        Sure.

I'd love a so-so receiver who drops wide open passes.

He is also slowing down considerably and drops wide open passes at times. He's about as fast as Sam Aiken now, and we all know how much the taller Aiken has figured into our offense...

If we traded JP, I would strongly consider Trent Green to be TE's backup. Aside from the confusion of having two QBs with the same first name, I think he would serve as a fantastic mentor for TE for the next year or two. If presseed into duty, he could be servicable for a quarter or two (or maybe even a start or two). I don't see another veteran out there who could serve the role of mentor better.
