Bears declined to exercise DT Darwin Walker's option for 2008, making him an unrestricted free agent. The option was for $5.2 million. Walker, 30, dealt with injuries in 2007 and only produced one sack, although he often had to occupy blockers as a nose with Dusty Dvoracek on injured reserve. Walker's strength is rushing the passer.

A lot of the beef wasn't necessarily about Darwin Walker (though there was plenty of that too), but more so about Marv making a trade for a player they were never going to sign.Comment
