    Always looking to turn another team's castoffs into stars on their team, the New England Patriots offered newly released and longtime Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas a contract Monday, according to a published report.

    I thought we were alledgedly also interested in him. What happened?

      How can they offer him a contract if Free Agency doesn't start until March 1st?

          They're still visiting with other teams and negotiating the offer the Pats made. Essentially, they weren't happy with what the Pats offered.

            Free agent Zach Thomas is reportedly in search of a multi-year deal that includes guaranteed money. The Providence Journal speculates the Patriots' offer may have only been for the minimum plus incentives. Thomas will meet with the Saints Tuesday and the Cowboys on Wednesday. The Jets and Bills also want to talk to him. If money is the primary factor, he probably won't sign with the Patriots.

              i really hope he doesnt go to NE.
              He'll end up playing well, I know he will.. THey take castoffs at LB and turn them into machines.

              I think N.O. would be a good fit for them, and I bet they'd pay him more money too

                  The radio guys here today said the Saints are making a pretty strong push for him. LB has long been an issue for them, so adding a guy like him behind grant and will smith could be a nice fit.

                  So far as I heard nothign yet, but apparently they are interested in keeping him from a visit with dallas.

                    He is drawing a lot of interest. Houston has lined up a visit with him, and Denver is considering bringing him in. That is on top of the contract offer he has from NE, and rumored interest from Dallas, New Orleans, Buffalo and the Jets.
