The Lions don't expect to re-sign RB T.J. Duckett, CB Keith Smith, CB Travis Fisher, or OL Damien Woody before February 29. Coach Rod Marinelli thinks they should all get a chance to see what's out there. Smith, Detroit's nickel back in 2007, had three picks and seven pass breakups last season. The rest will likely command short-term, prove-it type deals. The Lions will likely try to upgrade from Duckett as a backup.

I've stated elsewhere that welcome Travis Fisher to compete for a starting job, at worst he'd be better option then Kiwaukee Thomas and/or Ashton Youboty.

Keith Smith is an interesting guy. Was a fringe guy prior to last year and ended up making some plays for the Lions last year.

Whatever the hell happened to Damien Woody? He was a big time FA a few years back!

He's done well in Detroit but injuries and age catch up and it seems like he was playing a different position every week.

I'd be happy to pick up Duckett.

Wright hasn't proven himself and to be frank, it was surprising that the Lions didn't use Duckett more as he had a 5.2yds per carry average and got a 100yds when he started

Our RBs are pretty light - Lynch and Jackson are 215lbs, and Wright is 228lbs, but Duckett is a 254lbs battering ram who I'd like for 4th and 1 and goal line situations. He takes a lot of stopping
