All hypothetical of course but this will be the most realistic offseason FA and draft spinoffs you will see. OBD won't spend too much and will draft according to BPA for positions of need.

Some of these possibilities are from teams that run similar defenses

Resign
Al Wallace for depth in our DE rotation-Cheap
Jason Webster for our CB depth-Cheap and already knows the system
Jason Whittle OL depth and knows system-Cheap
Michael Gaines has a somewhat productive season blocking and catching
Coy Wire for depth at LB and special teams-Cheap
Joe Scott backup to Whitner
Sam Aiken Special Teamer

FA Acquisitions
Ernest Wilford starting #2 WR-Average cap hit and solid play
Drayton Florence competes for LCB position with Greer-Cheap
Billy Volek needed for TE's growth and a solid backup-Decent Salary
Jessie Chatman to challenge Jackson and bump Wright out of the picture
Antonio Garay to fill void at DT and challenge our 3rd round pick in 2008

Draft
1-Rivers-OLB (starts on day one)
2-John Carlson (great blocker and catching TE-our Jason Witten)
3a-Devin Thomas (6'2-217lbs great hands and will learn from Wilford)
3b-Trevor Laws (Scrappy DT will compete for time in rotation this year)
4a-Chevis Jackson (cover 2 CB)
4b-Kendall Langford (D1AA playmaker) * this pick comes from Losman trade

I love your FA acquisitions but I'd like it better if we drafted:

Rd1.) Kentwan Balmer, DT, NC ( we get our 1 technique guy, he frees up McCargo to make plays )
Rd2.) Curtis Lofton, ILB, OU ( We bump poz to wlb )
Rd3a.) Adarius Bowman, WR, OS ( Evans, Wilford, Bowman - not bad )
Rd3b.) Martin Rucker, TE, Mizz ( Evans, Wilford, Bowman and Rucker - even better! )
Rd4.) Marcus Griffin, DB, Texas ( Imagine us playing nickel with McGee, Florence, Youboty, Griffin and Kiwaukee on the field )
Rd5a.) Jerome Simpson, WR, Coastal Carolina ( Excellent 2nd day prospect, has the largest hands of any WR in this year's draft, bring him in for a look )
Rd5b.) Kerry Brown, OG, Appalachian State ( We add a top I-AA guard prospect to our lineup.. Maybe a diamond in the rough? )
Rd6.) Caleb Campbell, S, ARMY ( Class guy and a hard worker, could compete for spot on ST's. )
Rd7.) Kolo Kapunai, TE, West Texas A&M ( Athlete at the TE position, something our team needs more of, could push for the #3 spot )

I don't want two virtual rookies at LB in the Corps ... Poz only has 3 games ... and we would be horribly exposed unless we sort out the DL for them

I doubt we need to pick Balmer at 11, but if we trade down a DT in R1 would be good. I also think we will keep Losman until the exhibition games. If a starter goes down, we might be able to get better value for him in the 2009 draft.

R1. (trade down) Pat Sims ... 1-Tackle and brings 316lbs size and 4.92speed
R2a. Dre Moore ... 3-tacke pushes McCargo with 4.82speed at 308lbs
R2b. Adarius Bowman ... 6ft3, 220lbs possession receiver .. Terrell Owens Mk2?
R3a. John Carlson ... 6ft5, 255lbs
R3b. Justin King ... Jnr but with loads of experience and speed
R4 Titus Brown ... team leader, can be a 3rd down pass rusher .. maybe a SLB
R5a. Andrew Crummey ... a G bigger than the C, but experience playing the C
R5b. Kirk Barton ... team leader, 6ft6, 310lbs to push Butler or maybe even Walker
R6. Andrew Studebaker ... small school 6ft4, 255lbs, 4.66 at DE/OLB
R7a. Ricky Santos .... a local guy QB (New Hampshire) to push out Hamdan
R7b. Matt Hahn .... a young FB to bring along

Free Agents:

Teddy Lehman (LB) Played for Jauron, in and out, Buktus award winner
Mike Pearson (OT) former starting LT if Peters got injured
Drew Carter (WR) 6ft3, production increased every season since ACL in 2004
Mike Williams (WR) why not? a wildcard who could be a bust or great
Zak Keasey (FB) former LB from Princeton did well for Gore at the 49ers
Eugene Wilson (FS) leadership in a young secondary
Cleo Lemon QB

RDE-Schobel, TITUS BROWN
RDT-McCargo, DRE MOORE
LDT-PAT SIMS, K Williams
LDE-Kelsay, Denney
WLB-Crowell, Ellison, Wire (ST captain)
