Sabres Defenseman Brian Campbell could be playing his last game in a Buffalo uniform Monday night. The NHL's trade deadline of 3:00 p.m. Tuesday is approaching, and Campbell's agent says he expects the defenseman to be moved.

Campbell's agent, Larry Kelly, tells 2 On Your Side that he has not heard from Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier in a couple of days and says, "I expect (Campbell) to be traded."

Monday morning, Campbell told Channel 2's Adam Benigni that he didn't know of any futher progress on talks, and that he would not counter the Sabres three year offer for less than $6-million per season that he rejected last week.

Campbell did say that he was open to fielding any follow-up offers from the Sabres.

A Sabres source close to the situation who asked not to be identified given where things stand confirms the lack of progress and says there's no plan for any follow-up negotiation prior to Tuesday's deadline.

Campbell is set to become an unrestricted free agent this off-season. He'd previously broken off negotiations with the Sabres on a new deal saying he wanted to wait until the end of the season to try to reach a deal. That has led to widespread speculation the Sabres will trade Campbell prior to Tuesday's league deadline, rather than risk losing him for nothing this summer.
