It shouldn't, but you're probably right. No way I pay him that much...it would be franchise suicide!

How the heck can they afford all these players? I thought they were already screwed with having to pay big bucks to Lecavalier and St. Louis.

The Blues also extended Barret Jackman for four years.

Don't forget Richards! I believe they're all making 6.5 million plus!

The good news is that his trade value also went up with Boyle off the market.

Very true. Now the question is can Darcy Dimwit make it happen!?!?!

Tampa is crazy to sign these guys for that much.

It will cause them to lose any young guys they have now.

That is why the Sabres can't give Campbell 6 million. It would mean they would lose Connolly, Miller, Pominville, Stafford, etc.

I can't see this being a bad thing. If a team doesn't pick him up now, who ever signs him is going to be boned with his salary. Watch, Pronger retires and the Ducks pick up Campbell next year for 5.5 for 5yrs.

Watch this idiot FO sign him or not trade him and then let him walk at the end of the year. That would be something this stupid FO would do. Let's hope that doesn't happen!

Won't happen. If he hits the open market, he WILL get 6.5 million a year...AT LEAST!

I say trade him to Anaheim for Edmonton's and their first round picks and a prospect. Then when July 1st comes around, try and sign him again.

Anyone else see another lockout within the next 2-3 years? :ill:

The NHL teams are ****ing morons for overpaying when they aren't making money. :shakeno:

The Boyle signing will probably mean the trading of Campbell, just my opinion.

Well seeing as Campbell's agent said last night should be his last game in a Sabres uni, I am thinking there is a good chance.

There is a reason Tampa Bay is in last place. They pay suck up almost half the salary cap in four or five players and end up suiting up journeymen or players not ready for the NHL to fill the roster because that is all they can afford.
I like Campbell but he is not a player you break the bank for.

Did he really? Why would an agent say that? Well then, there you go.
