    Re: DB's Mock Draft V8.0

I go back and forth on this, but I really don't like a CB with our first pick. If Kelly is a good pick for the Bears at 14, I don't think he'd be a big stretch for us at 11.

But tomorrow, I'll probably have another opinion.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

what did Ellis weigh in at? (I thought he was only at 285lbs?)

In all honesty, if he's that light, I dont think he'll fit with NE, especially since they already have a plethora of DTs.

I actually see them taking Rivers in that spot and having Ellis fall to us (so long as Atlanta doesnt take a QB at #3, -otherwise, with Ryan off the board, Baltimore will snatch Ellis up with their pick.)

Ellis weighed 309 and if he doesnt go to NE, I dont think he gets past CIN

I hear ya I just like the later WR's better than Kelly, and CHI is desperate for a WR losing Berrian and cutting Muhammed, they literally have nobody and can reach for a guy.

I've seen Ellis rated higher than Dorsey in some draft guides. But I'd love it if either one fell to us.

If either of the DT's fall, I will need a change of shorts.

DB, I'll bet you every zb I have the Bills don't take DRC at #11.
They will take the wr before DRC if a d-lineman isn't there.

                      My thoughts exactly...

                      1. Dorsey or Ellis
                      2. Rivers
                      3. try and trade down
                      4. if we cant find a trading parter, go for the best WR option.

Yea its been my policy since Ive started these that I dont perdict trade downs, gotta pick in the position we are in. Trade downs get out of hand and become unrealistic.

so what do you do if a couple are available?

if we get a wr and dt in fa, i think the most gifted corner might be our pick if one of the super kids above isn't there.

if we don't nab a good wr in fa, then i think we go with the best guy @ 11.

corners in the first round, particularly early, tend to be the best value picks for conservative gm's.

they fill a role, can play out of the gate (look what the jets and giants guys did this season) and an FA corner is super expensive and they tend to peak pretty quickly (is clements better now than in 04 or 06? not really).

i have a feeling that the DE from florida might be shooting up the board and if we get our DT/WR in fa and feel ok about our LB situation (again an FA might be needed) then that 4th DE for our rotation might be a big help.
