now whats done is done...what are your expectations for Bernier and the Sabres?

He's now riding the top line and also playing a decent role as far as power play time.

I will think this is a wrong move if we still can't score, and if our defense suffers big time, so instead of losing games like 0-1, 1-2, we're losing 1-5, 2-5.

I want to see decent production out of Bernier, I want to see positive numbers from him. I want us to play better. If we don't then the front office screwed up big time and ruined our chances for the playoffs this year. Quinn specifically said they were out there looking for a defensemen and they decided the best move was to stay pat with who they have.

i think our expectations should be the same. We should expect playoffs and we should expect to be better offensively.

He isn't going to be on the top line he will be playing with Pommer and Hecht.

I expect him to bloom into a 25 to 30 goal scorer who hits.

Cam Neely is what I would like. I'll take 25 goals and 40 assists if he isn't on the power play.

Nah, he's playing with Vanek and Roy.

I'm not sure what to expect. I think it would be wrong to throw out goal/point totals right now because it's going to take some time for him to get used to the players and style of play. Right now I'm just going to see what kind of impact he can provide and what kind of effort he gives on the ice.

I just don't want a injury riddled, lost player. As long as he is making strides forward day in day out I will be happy.

I will say he will become a fan favorite.

Where did you hear that? On WGR this morning they said he would be on the pommenville line.

I think it shows what the FO thinks of him to throw him right into the top line. He sounds pretty psyched too, I like this kid already, but I just hope he doesnt do anything to make us not like him.

He is a big boy but I think we will be lucky to see 12-16 goals.

I expect this production every night now!

And a Gordie Howe hat trick too!

He reminds me of a young John LeClair...with better wheels!

You do make a good point. Remember when LeClair was with Montreal, he was just a 3rd line player at best with little production. When he got traded to Philly he became a scoring force. I know he was put on a great line, but the Vanek-Roy-Brenier line is looking like it is clicking. Let's see what he does in the next five games before we give him the key to the city though.

20 goals, 40 assists, plus rating, and a few fights

I tell ya what, couldve have wanted more than what you got from him last night.

I checked the score on my way home from work last night and almost **** my pants seeing that he scored both goals in the first. Couldn't help but be happy for the kid and the Sabres. Let's hope this upward swing continues.

And please God can we get a better backup goalie? Holy crap.

I never would have expected 3pts from him last night. I did expect it to be in your face the way he stood up for Roy. That is what I thought we were getting, with a few goals here and there. Then again, I've never seen him play before last night. If this is how it's gonna be on the Roy and Vanek line, just sign him long term in the off-season. Don't even play games.
