Too rich for my blood. Now I see why the Bills are turning their focus towards Ernest Wilford or maybe even Bryant Johnson.....

Updating a previous item, Adam Schefter, of the NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) Network, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars (http://www.kffl.com/team/20/nfl) have signed free-agent WR Jerry Porter (http://www.kffl.com/player/1437/nfl) (Raiders) to a six-year, $30 million contract, with $10 million in guaranteed money.

That's the kind of money you give to a WR who's proven to be what Porter hasn't lived up to.

He's getting paid all that money to be the #2 guy behind Reggie Williams?

Even to get Wilford will cost some money based upon what Andre Davis got in Houston.

That is a very good point. Andre Davis has been nothing but a 3rd or 4th string receiver all his career and just got paid a lot of money for being a return specialist and decent receiver.....

For a guy that has been a cancer that seems to be a lot of money....My guess guys like Hackett or Wilford will get 3.5MM to 4MM a year.

That's just plain silly insane. That's the kind of deal that pisses off GMs around the league.

That's what you pay for the top free agent WR's even when the top free agents are mediocre. Glad we stayed away.

The Texans destroyed the WR market with that contract.

That's the scary part and it's exactly why I would still like to see the Bills draft Kelly or one of the top WRs in the draft. I think we are looking at $8 million per year or more..... :ill:

yeah they did. When I saw that contract, I knew all the other FA WRs will cost a ton. That's insane for Andre Davis.

Depending on what transpires over the next week or so, I'd say this definately increases the chance that we look exclusively towards the draft for WR help, especially round 1.
