Just did a quick search and so far there is only one source saying our interests have cooled. If you read the article again it seems like nothing more than an agents publicity ploy. I'm not saying we'll sign him, but I don't think we're done trying yet.

This is what i've found about Stroud:

As for Tripplett's replacement, don't count on it being Jacksonville's Marcus Stroud, who has three years left on his contract, and has the Jaguars' permission to seek a trade.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection cut short his visit with the Bills in Buffalo on Friday after the team's interest cooled upon learning Stroud was seeking a significant raise, a person familiar with the player's visit told The Associated Press.
Stroud, scheduled to make $16.5 million over the three years remaining on his contract, is seeking to restructure his contract after the New York Jets acquired defensive tackle Kris Jenkins in a trade with Carolina earlier in the day. The Jets then came to terms with Jenkins, also a three-time Pro Bowl selection, on a new five-year contract worth $35 million, including $20 million in guaranteed money.

Screw Rosenhaus.

Regardless of the reasons, Stroud leaving early just made the contract #'s get smaller, along with the compensation worth giving up to acquire him, from our position anyway.

Some other team out there may be willing to give up bigger bucks and more picks, but it shouldn't be us.

Yup. I can't find much more than that and other than Yahoo sports there doesn't seem to be any major coverage does there?

Stroud is a stud but he also is much more risky in terms of baggage from both an injury and suspension standpoint than Jenkins and Williams. With that baggage I don't think he is deserving of a significant raise at this point.
I think Rosenhaus boned the Bills and it is unfortnate the Bills concentrated on Stroud and Rosenhaus changed their stance after seeing the deals from the other DTs.

So let's just eat the money. Who needs talent, I would much rather be way under our self imposed limit.

Wants more money...
questionable recovery from being injured...
in trouble with the league...

I'm not gonna get pissed about not signing him..this tells me they have their eye on a stud in the draft. Who that is, I have no idea, but it's not gonna be a troubled/damaged/greedy bastard.

I think we are looking at Dre Moore and Trevor Laws

Sedrick Ellis and Glenn Dorsey won't slide out of the Top10, especially with the Bengals not getting Rogers. I'm not sure we'd even gamble on Dorsey considering his knees and are familiarity with IR last season.

Moore and Laws had impressive Combines and importantly Moore plays the 1-Tackle.

I guarantee that the leak came from Drew Rosenass himself. He felt he could corner the Bills into paying more or at least convincing another team to bid for his services.
