Dominik Hasek will start in goal against his old team tonight (6 p.m., MSG) when the Detroit Red Wings meet the Buffalo Sabres in HSBC Arena.
It will be Hasek's third appearance in Buffalo since his departure following the 2000-01 season. He suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to the Sabres while playing for Ottawa on Feb. 4, 2006 and was pulled after the second period while playing for Detroit in a 5-1 loss on March 10, 2002.
Hasek played nine seasons for Buffalo (1992-2001) and is the club's all-time leader in games (491), wins (234), shutouts (55) and goals-against average (2.22).
I'm surprised, He never plays when he plays the Sabres. Watch at the last second he'll probably make up some excuse not to play.
