Forked from: WGR550 Reports Tentative Agreement With Bryant Johnson (http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showpost.php?postid=2354538)

Two sources reported on Sunday evening that the Buffalo Bills have reached a tentative agreement with free agent WR Bryant Johnson, however the team has not made an official statement either way.

When reached for comment, Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold stated that the team cannot confirm nor deny a deal with Johnson.

Johnson has spent the past five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Stuck on the depth chart for most of his time in Arizona behind Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, the former first-round pick out of Penn State has 210 career receptions and nine touchdowns.

Also on Sunday, Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reported that free agent TE Alge Crumpler has come to terms on a deal with the Tennessee Titans.

WGR is not confirming anything they are confirming that 2 other sources are saying that there is a tentative agreement in place.

WGR doesn't know if its true or not either.

I think you should crack the sign Askew joke again right about now. Tones a bit to serious.

Considering the source Sirius has been pretty reliable as they broke the Spencer Johnson signing as well as the Jason Whittle signing last year. Of course both were former Vikings' players so not sure how reliable their Arizona sources are.

it didn't used to be that way, we used to have two sports stations,

Between October 2000 and April 2004, Empire Sports Network started WNSA. The purpose of WNSA's existence was to challenge WGR, Buffalo's often antagonistic sports talk station. WNSA consistently outperformed WGR in the ratings for most of its run.

Adelphia Communications, thrown into bankruptcy by the Rigas family cooking the books, began to slash WNSA's (and Empire's) budget. Ratings fell below those of WGR toward the end. The end of WNSA came when the station was sold to WGR's owner, Entercom Communications in May 2004 for $10.3 million and was changed from Sports Talk to music leaving Buffalo with one sports talk station WGR55.

Considering that Buffalo doesnt have a pro basketball or pro baseball team...why in the hell do you think Buffalo needs 2 sports stations???

Many cities only have 1 sports station..

I really hope this becomes official pretty early tomorrow, I won't get a thing done tomorrow at work if it doesn't. I will be hitting the refresh button every 3 seconds like a tool. O well, so I won't get anything done, not that much different than any other day!

for the record, there is a thread stating this on BuffaloBills.com and one of the mods over there stickied it. I know that it's just a messageboard, but I think that the people running that site know some things. Because when something like that is a straight lie or not the full truth, they usually delete the thread or let it die.

http://mvn.com/nfl-cardinals/2008/03/02/byrant-johnson-signing-with-buffalo/

It appears that soon to be former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Bryant Johnson, will be signed by the Buffalo Bills. According to channel 4 news in Buffalo (http://www.billsinsider.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=14449), Johnson and the Bills have come to terms. It was expected that Johnson was going to get big money thrown at him in free agency, so it was very unlikely that the Cardinals would resign him as a 3rd wide out. Johnson has the speed, size, and good rout running ability to be a solid number 2 receiver in Buffalo. Unfortunately, B.J. doesn’t have the hands to be a number 1 in the NFL, so I hope the Bills aren’t expecting that from him. Depending on how much Buffalo gave Johnson, I think this is a solid pick up for a team that needed a WR.
