Dolphins | Team reportedly makes Pace offer

Kent Somers, of the Arizona Republic, reports the Miami Dolphins have reportedly offered free-agent LB Calvin Pace (Cardinals) a contract that includes $20 million in guarantees.

Thats alot of guaranteed money for an above average lb

And he hasn't signed yet. He is back home in Atlanta mulling offers from the Jets and Fins. Wonder what the Jets offered. Parcells must really like something about him

Parcells loves Big, pass rushing OLB, which is what Pace is.

Pace can also play DE so he's def a Parcells kind of guy.

He would be a good pickup, but the pricetag is real high. I guess it really isnt worth worrying about what anyone gets for a contract in free agency now because 9 times out of 10 it will be too high for that player.

I think he was just starting to develop last year. I think he will be a good signing but that definitely sounds like a high price tag.

from what I've read...

when the Cards were utilizing the previous defense, 4-3, Pace wasn't able to have as much success. After they switched to the 3-4, Pace took off. Some wonder if the young guy took off because of the change, or because of the "last year in his contract" push. Even if he was to sign with the Jets, I would think it was because of the change to 3-4 IMO.

We overpaid for him, but i would rather them overspend and get people, rather than sit on our hands and watch other teams get the players we need!
