I know we got stroud and i know hes coming from the jets but just imagine what are defense would look like if they could make a trade for dwayne robertson as well.

We have enough money locked into the D-line as it is.

Nope, it's time to hand the job to McCargo and see what he's made of.

Nope, it's time to hand the job to McCargo and see what he's made of.Well, it's time for him to show what he is made of and take it. But yeah.

I don't think we could afford him and still fill the holes that we need to fill.

I don't think that he is needed either. Give McCargo a year as a starter and see what he does. He really started to come on the second half of the last season, with Stroud next to him, he will be better. I know that has been a lot of criticism of McCargo but I really like him. DT is not an area we need to address, we've already addressed it. Now we need a CB,TE and possibly a Guard.

I hate trades within the division.

See Drew Bledsoe and Wes Welker.

Spencer is definitely an underrated acqusition...

The possibilities are exciting to think about, but our rival wouldn't bolster our interior defense to the point of sheer dominance! It very well could be "on the verge" with McCargo, but Dwayne Robertson would definately put it over the top!! We would be scary good up front..... well on second thought, why not explore it?

Good point! The more I read about the kid, the more I think he can come in and make an impact! He may turn out to be an excellent pickup.

the stats he put up in his time and being able to play with the williams duo i also think helped him alot...he will be perfect in a rotation and maybe eventually take over starting

but im not to worried about DT anymore

we should give tim anderson a look tho

we also have spencer who i think could surprise alot of peopleI actually watched some film on him shortly after we signed him, I'm honestly impressed with him. I don't think he's a starter but I think he will fit into our rotation perfectly.

I still think we need to draft a DT at some point in the draft with Strouds ankle still in question.

It fell through because Robertson and the Bengals couldn't agree on an amended contract.

The Bungles are on a 0-2 count.... I'd say that they WILL strike out!!!

The concern about all the DTs apart from Stroud is that they are small and light, ranging between 285lbs and 300lbs if we are lucky. McCargo could get bigger but will lose some speed, whilst Kyle Williams hasn't the actual frame to get any bigger - I think when he tries to bulk up he gets to a maximum 305lbs and he wasn't that athletic to start with.

Robertson could be interesting as he is 317lbs. Another might be Dre Moore in the draft who can run a 4.88 at 305lbs ... he could add 15lbs and probably still run a sub 5.0. It gives us insurance especially as Stroud and McCargo have recent and season ending injury issues.

Having to start Williams (299lbs) and Johnson (286lbs) whilst rotating in Jefferson (295lbs) is a scary prospect.
