Good find, I've always been a fan of Greer and think that he has what it takes to be one of the better #2's in the league. McGee still scares me a bit though.

We can be better.

I still think they were too inconsistent. I think they will get better when the qb's don't have so much time if our Dl can get to them.

Well that's a bit of a loaded stat. It doesn't account for opponents' QB ratings (two games against the Fish a year will help that stat), limited sample size (ie, Greer in a back up role won't be challenged as much as a full time starter).

McGee is top 20 in the NFL, maybe top 10. Greer is adequate- that's it.

Exactly, justa! Get a DE round 1!

That stat also doesn't show how Moss abused us with his size.

yeah. the Giants' secondary is decent, but not much better than ours. and they shut town Tochdown Tommy and his legions of all star receivers.

pass rush makes all the difference.

He wouldn't help us right away. But if we have the luxury to draft for the future, I say go for it.

Marrio couldn't do squat in his first year. Is there a DE thats supposedly better than him coming out of college?

if you didnt notice Moss abused everyone last year

We're not going to sign a FA either. The future is what you're looking to when you draft unless it's a RB or LB which seem to transition to the NFL quickly.

to say that greer sucked or just played average last year is just a flat out bold faced lie.

Its not McGee and Greer's cover ability, its the soft game they play. Our corners as a whole are very soft in coverage and tackling. We must get more physical in that area.

I can say that with confidence.

That and if you look back, Greer was in picture perfect position on every one of Moss' TDs. It was just incredible plays on Moss' part.

I also think the fact that we haven't even contacted the agents of any CBs, cut KT, and let Webster go to the Pats, points to the fact that they are a lot more confident in Greer/McGee than most of us are. Either that, or they are enamoured by a specific CB prospect they know they can get. I'm leaning towards the former, although I think we still pick a CB in the 3rd to play in the nickle situations on the outside.

i used to worry a lot about mcgee as a cb...he impressed me a lot last year, just he needs to hold onto a couple of those easy ints...

greer was spectacular minus the patriot games, but who didn't get abused by them last year.

my ass we have two of the best corners in the league. anyone who watches them play knows that. trivial stats mean nothing.

I swear, Op, you are the only person that I know that can find a positive and turn it into a negative. So...does playing Brady and the Pats twice a year offset playing the Fish twice???

And didn't we have one of the toughest schedules last year???

That and if you look back, Greer was in picture perfect position on every one of Moss' TDs. It was just incredible plays on Moss' part.Perfect position would have been like 4 inches taller.

I can say that with confidence.Yep. Mcgee is better. Greer could make a very good nickle though. Oh, and we happened to cut a guy who excelled in the nickle.

Either that, or they are enamoured by a specific CB prospect they know they can get. I think you nailed it. Well, I hope you did.

Dominique Rogers Cromartie 6ft2, 4.28 in the 40If we nab Johnson, I think I have a clear favorite for round one.

I agree, but I think he played quite well last year. Esp considering the DLine got about as much penetration as Condoleezza Rice

I don't think height was the issue on those plays. I think if his arms were 4 inches longer, he would have made those plays. I'd rather grab a DE before CB than vice versa.

Whay aren't both Pats and Jets DBs on the list then? They played the Fish twice.

They are good CBs...give credit where it is due.

our top 2 guys are good.

they cover well -- they aren't big enough to blanket the big guys, and we get abused when other teams catch the ball short and run with it. we also are thin and don't cover the multi wr sets that well (3rd and longs we give up).

we need at least one more corner. a top rook would be great for us.

part of the corner's stats is the safety playing well over top of them. donte is good even if he gets no love on this board.
