Hardly. He was a nice addition to special teams but was worthless as a WR on this team. Can't afford to keep guys of his size on the roster just for special teams play.Comment

Tasker actually played receiver and he also returned the ball. Aiken was allowed being a free agent to look elsewhere. They'll do just what they did with Fast Freddy, sign him and then release him. He might come back here, lol, like Fast Freddy did!Comment

Did anyone actually see Aiken on ST this year? No. Do you know why? Because Jenkins beat him out for the gunner spot, sending him to the bench. Jenkins did great and Aiken couldn't get on offense DISPITE his 6-2 frame, the Price injury, the Reed injury, and the size of our other WRs.
Never been this happy to see a player go. A great worker, but he'll be cut after he spills to the Pats.

That is basically what Belichick said. He and Kelley Washington are currently the 5th & 6th WR, and both are big ST'ers. The top 4 WR are set (Moss, Welker, Gaffney, C. Jackson). Belichick values ST a great deal, and they made Aiken a target on the first day of FA because they thought he was tough to stop on ST the 2 times a year they played against him in the last several seasons.Originally posted by ghz in pittsburgh
Really, he isn't even filling a slot at WR. He is taking Mel Mitchell's place on ST. Mitchell was listed as a S, but he was on the team strictly for his ST ability.Comment
