DD.comment: Scott may be a bit of a project, but he's a good athlete, who may even project as a outside linebacker (3-4 base) at the next level. He should, also, be able to help on special teams early in his career. Scott reminds us a bit of former S.M.U. star Justin Rogers, who was drafted by the Patriots in 2007.

Bowman ran a 4.76 40-yard dash, a 7.22-second three-cone drill, a 4.68-second 20-yard shuttle, a 12-second 60-yard shuttle, had a 33 1/2-inch vertical jump and a nine-foot, eight 1/2-inch broad jump. He completed 16 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press, which was up from his 14 repetitions at the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine.

The Chris Long pro day, for what its worth.

This is right from the horse's mouth.

Long's workout, the UVA pro day was attended by 28 of the 32 NFL teams.

While Long drew most of the attention, Brandon Albert was very closely looked at as well.

Tom Santi, a tight end benefited from the exposure, besting his combine numbers.

Anyway, onto Long.

He had been working out exclusively for this. In fact he is not taking classes and will not graduate in the spring because of his total commitment to this process. He has a deal with UVA to complete his degree requirements in the fall.

He has been working for the last few weeks one on one with head coach Al Groh, a linebacker technique expert with significant NFL experience, almost exclusively on linebasker skills, and spent a lot of the pro day time demonstrating linebacker stuff.

Interestingly, Ram's head coach Scott Linehan spent hours with Long.
The rumor around the workout was that the Dolphins were looking to trade out of the first to allow Dallas to get McFadden, leaving Long for the Rams in the second spot.

Here are the Pro Day numbers for Ferris State defensive end/defensive tackle Kurt Hout, who reportedly worked out with a hairline fracture in his ankle, suffered from training three weeks ago. He will not be 100% for another two weeks.

40 Yard Dash: 4.89 seconds

Vertical Leap: 28 inches
