View Full Version : If JP is gone, who do you want as backup QB?

Mr. Miyagi

The JP trade is pretty imminent. When he's gone, who do you think we should pick up as a backup QB?

Aren't a lot of decent FAs left out there.

I know they probably want a guy with experience behind an inexperienced Edwards, but Hamdan at least deserves to be in the poll.

Mr. Miyagi

No Hamdan deserves nothing.

Harrington is better than JP. We should sign Harrington to get him off the market. With Joey out there, JPs trade value is lower.

Edwards style reminds me most of Trent Green.

Brunnel, Harrington, Carr, Culpepper, Leftwich style of play is more like Losman's.

If I want Edwards to mentor from someone, I'd want him to mentor from someones who's play most resembles his own.

TE already has a mentor. His name is Alex Van Pelt.

I'd take Mark Brunell for the right price. He's a very solid QB. I also like Chris Simms, who apparently is on the trading block.

Exactly.

Loseman is going to be a desperate option for a team that is not satisfied with their QB roster after the draft and wants to add a 3rd QB to compete for a starting job.

Trent Dilfer would be perfect.

Mr. Pink
03-07-2008, 11:40 AM
I would say Culpepper but his injury is legitimately a 2 year injury to come back from...he should be almost fully healty by midseason.

I can foresee him lobbying and lobbying hard to be the starter, especially if we are floudering around .500 or below. We already had one lockerroom cancer - Holcomb, we don't need another.

Therefore I picked Brunnel. Brunnel realizes his days of starting are over and he would be an excellent tutor to Trent.

How was The Holcomb a cancer? Because he was a proven winner that led this team to a 4-4 record in 2005 compared to Loseman's 1-7 record that same year?

Just like Moulds was a cancer too for publicly stating he wanted Holcomb and that Losman sucked?

The proven wiiner who took the Tim Couch lead playoff Browns team to laughing stock? The proven winner who never took any team to the playoffs himself? The proven leader who took us nowhere? The proven leader who Philly traded? The proven leader who couldn't lead the Vikes to wins even though Travaris Jackson did?

Oh yeah, he also is tailored made for the Philly WCO and will take them to the playoffs in your mind.

The premise of this thread assumes that Losman is off the team. So he does is not part of the options as the backup QB.

Now play by the rules or get out of my thread.

By the way, his name is Losman, without the E. Do you have a reading disability, The Cancer?

If you read earlier, my answer was Mark Brunell. Until the Answer sidetracked the thread.

Tim Couch and/or Kelly Holcomb are both done in this league, and rightfully so.
