I haven't talked to him lately, so I can neither confirm or deny.

honestly, don't worry about it. Troupe is the best available, but other than Crumpler, the FA TE's this year are really weak. He's another Gaines/Royal clone- at best, a stopgap. We need a beast TE and if we sign Troupe, we still need a beast TE.

I wouldn't have cried if we landed him, I didn't cry when I thought we lost him. I'm actually more fascinated that the media can't seem to get their crap together this year. If I did my job this poorly...

Sorry, not anymore. They seem to be swinging and missing several times a week now. Frankly, I'm amazed at how wrong these different AP and other news sources have been this week. For the record, the Tampa Bay Bucs websit still has not posted anything about him signing with them either.

I'm amazed with how pathetic the media all around the NFL looks this year. It seems that everyone is trying so hard to beat out the other one, and then they end up being completely wrong. :snicker: AP, Yahoo sports, CNNSI, Fox Sports, ESPN, NFL Network. all of these major news sources have reported something since free agency that turned out to be false.

I can't remember a year like this. Everyone is trying to jump the gun with breaking news.

I agree. It's insane how many sports sources are risking their reputation, just so they can be the first one to report the breaking news.

Looks like the same article... still nothing on the Bucs website about it. Weird.

Tampa Bay: The Buccaneers entered the signing period with an NFL-high $44 million in cap room. But outside of Faine, Tampa Bay has shown remarkable prudence. The Bucs have focused more on modestly priced talent like linebacker Teddy Lehman (Detroit) and defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson (Kansas City). Coach Jon Gruden also continued his stockpiling of quarterbacks by trading with Chicago for Brian Griese.
