Who do you think is holding things up on the Bryant Johnson front and why?

I blame Sirius Radio.

OK. I just don't think he's all that good, beyond a Vet minimum or slightly more. A draft pick may beat him out.

He's thinking he's better than he really is and the film doesn't lie. He tries to cradle the ball far too often, resulting in the ball bouncing off his chest. We're being blinded by his size and former 1st round draft status but he obviously doesn't play to that level, if he's not starting.

If he hasn't learned how to pluck the ball by this point in his career, he never will.

Its the Bills and Johnson, Johnson see's how much money other WR are getting and wants in on the big $$$.. While Buffalo knows his worth and doesnt want to give him the big $$$..

IMO thats all it is, is money holding it up..

The "big" money was paid to players who have more than 350 yards a season, unlike BJ. You can drop the 2 probowl players he's behind BS ahead of time as well.

Sounds like Eric Moulds! I liked the guy, but I've never seen a number one WR "body catch" and leave the ground on routine passes more in my life.

We are not going to overpay for Johnsons services... because the Bills do not believe he alone is the answer at the #2 spot.

We want him, but at a salary that will eventually be acceptable at the #3 spot, so we can draft one of the top WR this year to round out the corps.

Maybe the Bills don't really want him.

They want him... they just aren't going to pay him what he was hoping to get....

I feel that the Bills are going to draft a WR early either way.

I think the real reason the Bills haven't signed him yet is because they know that he sucks.

Javon Walker had 26 catches for 287 yards and no TDs last year and got a 55 million dollar deal.

Johnson, in his 5 years in the NFL has never finished with less than 400 yards, so i dont know what your talking about. Granted he never had that 1000 yard season, He has averaged about 540 yards a year. With his best year coming in 06 with 740 yards.

he started half the season and played in all the games in 06, and it was by far his best year.. josh reed had a season like that his rookie year as the 3rd wr.

and walker has also had 2 very big seasons. the 6 year 55 million dollar contract is also inaccurate, as has been widely reported as of late.

I know. I don't even really care anymore if they sign him or not, just get some closure on the situation already!

Im sorry, after looking it up. Javon Walker stands to earn $27 million in the first three years of his contract. Thats big money. And he has had 2 big seasons, but he also has serious injury concerns.

To say "The "big" money was paid to players who have more than 350 yards a season, unlike BJ. " is inacurate for two reasons.

1. It implys BJ has had less than 350 yards in a season
2. It implys only players who had Big years last year are receiving large contracts.

And to say his best year was the year he started half the games makes sense to me. I dont know if that is supposed to be some sort of a knock on him?

I would rather have Hackett. But lets not start trashing the guy cause we didnt sign him. Lets wait till he signs somewhere else first. Then he clearly sucks.

BJ is a Josh Reed clone from a very bad team.

We don't need him and we have enough #2 and #3 receivers on this team as it is.

okay, I'm sold. If the world's biggest and only Kelly Holcomb fan doesn't like him, then I'm definitely on the Bryant Johnson bandwagon full force. :snicker:

Are you trying to set yourself up for the "imagine that Mikey wants a BJ" joke? sometimes it's just too easy.

now that Larry got a new deal with the cards done I think it'll make BJ sign in my opinion I think he was waiting to see what happened there before he signed with another team
