Bengals signed restricted free agent TE Ben Utecht to a multi-year offer sheet. The deal is believed to be worth $9 million over three seasons. The Colts have seven days to match. Utecht would give Cincinnati the sure handed pass catching tight end the club has put off pursuing in the last two drafts. Utecht is 6'6/251, only 26, and has a good amount of potential.

I would have liked to have brought him in but I would still rather pick up Bennett or Keller via the draft.

NO we're not. I promise you we sign at least 4-8 more guys between now and TC. They might not all be household names but we'll sign them to fill spots for TC.

I wouldn't want to pay $3 million/season for Utecht :shakeno:

I understand part of that is a premium to get the Colts not to match but still......

Yeah, all the guys we missed do. Teyo Johnson and Courtney Anderson are way better. At least one of them will be All-Pro.
