I was reading in a magazine that said John Wendling is arguably the best gunner in the NFL. Makes me happy.

Did he even see the field as a gunner last year?

Did he even see the field as a gunner last year?

Quite often actually.

Seriously?

He was one of our biggest playmakers on ST.

some of you need to keep it in perspective. Wendling shows a lot of promise but Tasker is arguably the best ST player EVER- it's pretty much a toss up between him and Bates.

So, no one will ever be the next Steve Tasker after one year.

I hope at some point Wendling can make a bigger impact on defense than Tasker ever made as a WR. He has all the tools to do both.

Wendling had 10 ST's tackles in 6 games played last year. That's impressive!

Personally I'd like to see Wendling moved to depth at FS behind Simpson and Bryan Scott resigned as depth behind Whitner.

Wendling was mainly a FS at Wyoming .. I think he got moved to SS, because he had played a little at SS and George Wilson and Jim Leonhard didn't have the experience or size there.

I think at 6ft1, 219lbs, 4.38 in the 40 dash Free Safety will be able to keep Ko far more on his toes than the other options.

I'd rather he just be John Wendling.

Yeah, seriously. I honestly can't recall him lining up outside on the punt coverage team that much last year, if at all.

If you don't know about John Wendling, then you're just not paying attention.
You'll be impressed sooner the more he get's to play, I'm a huge fan, and Wendling can bring the wood, he's a big hitter, he's proving it on ST's, you've just got to pay attention. He needs some time playing safety also, he'll move up depth chart if he does. We're going to have a badass Defense!
ps- Tasker was Tasker, and Wendling brings his own game, he's no where near Tasker,
but he's a hell of a player who will make a name for himself.

I liked Justin Jenkins a lot as a gunner too!
Where'd you read that?

It was a football draft magezine. It gives thoughts about each team.

Tasker got the glory, but Pike was the glue that made those special teams work, and work well they did. Not to knock Tasker at all, but Pike was the guy....

Tasker was so good that the NFL had to change some NFL rules because the way he played! How many athletes in any sport can do that? Not many.

No disrespect to Wendling, but there is only one Steve Tasker!

He did play remarkably well, There were a few times last year on ST that I was like "Who made that play." and more often then not it was Wendling.
