I had a argument with someone on a different forum. I sayed that AD is more of a elusive back like LT. He then sayed that LT doesnt run over people.

AP isn't a powerback, he isn't a scat back, he can do both. AP is an ELITE all purpose RB that can do everything required of him and more! To try to confine such a talent to one category, imo is just wrong.

AP breaks tackles for a living. He's a one cut, break some arm tackles and excellerate kind of back.

Yeah, he can run over you or run by you.. His playing style is very similar to Earl Campbell.. Even when they have the opportunity to run out of bounds to avoid being hit, they usually collide with the defenders instead. I'm not saying AP will ever be as great as Earl Campbell, but there are obvious similarities, imo. Both men were probably the fastest atheletes on the field, but prefer to punish the defenders instead of avoiding the hit. In my eyes, I'm not sure how long AP will hold up.. He doesn't have the same build that Campbell had to support his physical style of play. Campbell had TREE TRUNK's for thighs, I'm not sure how long AP will hold up with his frame.

Who is AD?

"All Day"

Adrian Peterson.

I don't know if you could call him a power back, but he finishes his runs better than anyone in the NFL. If he has to run over someone, he will put down his shoulder and do it, he just doesn't have to do it because he can do a lot more than that.

Peterson is a great finisher, though.

The only reason to ever take Peterson out of the lineup is when he needs a rest. He can run with power. He can run with speed. He can catch and he can make you miss. In that sense he's more versatile than Earl Campbell. If there is one downside to Peterson, it is that he may take more of a beating than he has to, and that could potentially shorten his career.

That's his nickname from college days. It's not like some media moron just came up with it or anything.

Try to play along Thurm.

Yep. At least since his Freshman year at OU he has been called "AD." I've never cared for the nickname myself; although, I know his OU teammates were fond of the name so it was more than some media created term.

He's a very elusive back, but he transformed himself into that after all of his injuries. Don't get me wrong, he has always carried great talent in the physical and elusive departments, but when he started out at OU he just put his head down and run into people.
