    Strength and Conditioning

Last season we had 17 injuries. We all anticipate that 2008 will be a better year simply because we get back 3-4 impact players from season ending injuries.

    My questions are:

    1. What if 2007 wasn't a fluke, and our strength and conditioning coach is just REALLY bad.

    2. What if 2008, we see a greater impact of injuries (Evans, Schobel, Peters, Lynch)

I am just concerned that we are putting all of our eggs in the "17 players back from injury" basket, and we may have overlooked the root cause which may be strength and conditioning.

We did have some freak injuries that are not related to strength and conditioning. Poz's broken arm, Websters broken arm, and Simpson's broken leg are a few that come to mind.

I'm trying to remember, but I think you can add several others, including Wire's neck and Denney's foot. I think most of our injuries were NOT strength and conditioning related. There were not a lot of hamstrings, groins or other things you could attribute to a poor strength and conditioning program.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

agreed...also, 2005 and 2006 were relatively injury free which would lead me to believe it was just a fluke year.

We did get the new strength and conditioning coach last season....def makes you wonder.

Since we got all those broken bones, should we not have a "Got Milk?" Coach?

Maybe it is to do with the fact that the team does not get enough workouts in the offseason and training camp. They don't spend enough time working out and building muscle to help their bodies hold up better. Or maybe it's because the team is too small....

The Bills are under the same rules and regulations as any other team working out and when.

Small and fast bodies colliding with big bodies always lose. I'm glad our defense has bulked up a little, I think that alone will make a big difference. Whoever got rid of Rusty Jones should have his nuts cut off.

Also Price had a neck injury which required surgery. Evans, Peters, and Lynch all got injured last year but it was at the end of the year.
