» WR Limas Sweed (6-4 ¼, 210): Ran the 40 in 4.50 and 4.51, had a 37 ½-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 8-inch long jump, 4.33 short shuttle, 7.14 cone drill, ran position drills and looked good catching the ball.

He ran a 4.46 40 at the combine.

Nice numbers.
Faster than Jerry Rice, slower than Scott Mayle.

SWEED'S PRO DAY 40 TIME NOT BETTER: Texas WR Limas Sweed didn't help himself at his pro day clocking a 4.5 40-time. Speed is his one drawback and he actually ran slightly slower than his 4.48 time at the combine. He did have a solid 37 1/2-inch vertical which was 2 1/2 inches better than at the combine. He also had a very good 10'8" broad jump, which is a good indicator for explosion. I don't think he leapfrogged Thomas or Kelly with that 40-time however. ---

TEXAS TE HELPS HIS STOCK: While Limas Sweed didn't do much to boost his draft stock his teammate TE Jermichael Finley did a lot to help himself. After running just a 4.82 at the combine he shattered that number with a 4.66 at the Texas pro day. That's very good for a 6'5" 240-pound TE, and is not far behind Dustin Keller (4.55) considered the most athletic TE in the class though not the best. ---

Mike Mayock has Sweed as the top rated WR in the entire draft.

NFL.com has a video evaluating Sweed on the main page. Mayock says Sweed ran in the high 4.4's.

Jermichael Finley's time certainly makes him a more palatable option at TE in the third round. He still pretty light.

and until Malcolm Kelly runs I agree with Mayock.
