"There are numerous other examples of the disparity between attendance and emphasis among certain organizations. One player who spent offseasons in both New England and Buffalo said, "The Patriots offseason program is just part of the deal of being on that team and every veteran is there. Tom Brady is there. Richard Seymour is there. The only guys that were really up there in Buffalo in the offseason were the young guys trying to make the team. Their best players were nowhere to be found. That was one huge difference between those two organizations and I think it really sets the tone about what they are all about.""

Re: Ross Tucker SI article...
That's not even half as disturbing as this...
Other strength coaches, like the Bears' Rusty Jones, place a premium on injury prevention, thus heavily emphasizing stretching, nutrition and body composition. This often enables players to feel their best and prepares them for the pounding their body will have to endure. Any NFL player will tell you they would rather feel completely healthy than make any type of strength gains as they head into training camp. Jones' presence and reputation around the league offers the Bears a leg-up as free agents make their decisions.

Re: Ross Tucker SI article...
While I don't think too many of our injuries last year were strength and conditioning related, I DO know we'd be much better off if Rusty Jones were still here.Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Just goes to show you that our organization isn't serious about winning. I'd like to know where the **** Trent Montana is, that dick head has more to prove than anyone and should be here every day and every night.

How many injuries did we have last year? Thanks for firing one of the best strength coaches in the NFL just so you could bring aboard your friend, Mularkey, you *****.
Also, John Allaire was brought in by Rusty Jones.

Tucker played back in 2003-2004 with the Bills.
Different regime now, I think all our guys were at the OTA's last year?"You can't be a real country unless you have beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need beer."

Re: Ross Tucker SI article...
UNfortunately, this probably has as much to do with the difference between the desirability of living in a city like Boston and living in a city like Buffalo as much as any other factor. I'm not trying to cut down Buffalo, but the reality is that most millionaires prefer to spend as much time in their hometowns or warm weather as possible. I know Boston is cold too, but (as much as I hate the place) it is a huge city with a lot of going on most of the time. I'd imagine that many star players stay out of GB during the offseason for the same reasons.

The guys that are reportedly working out on their own a One Bills Drive are listed in the following article:
It may be hard for some to believe, but the preparations for the 2008 season begin in earnest a week from today as the Bills will open their offseason conditioning program at that time. Though the workouts are voluntary they've been very heavily attended the past couple of seasons under head coach Dick Jauron.
"We've had good attendance," said Bills strength and conditioning coordinator J.T. Allaire. "I'd say we usually have somewhere around 50 guys showing up consistently every week. Knowing that it's voluntary that's a great thing for our program."
A handful of players have already been working out on their own accord at One Bills Drive. Brad Butler, Jon Corto
, Chris Kelsay
, Paul Posluszny
, Robert Royal
and Ashton Youboty
have been some of the more frequent attendees.
At this day in age the players have an understanding of the importance this program holds.

Re: Ross Tucker SI article...
i think our teams lack of heart was bad before, and i was a bit worried we still had that problem when we layed down for new england.
i think (and hope) at this point we were just an over matched beat up team with an inept quarterback giving games away and now we are hardened by the experience.
