Nelson seems to be getting a lot of play for the Bills in the third. I think the mock Skooby just posted had us taking him there also.

yeah i just found it. its the 7th round though. the guy still did a pretty decent job hitting all our needs through the draft. im sure by the time the 7th round came he just got lazy. FB woulda probably been a better pick.

For people who are too lazy to read through the link.....

11) <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Buffalo – DE Derrick Harvey (Florida)
They addressed their need at linebacker by signing Kawika Mitchell from the Giants and will pair him with Paul Posluszny. Now it’s time to address a pathetic pass rush that produced only 26 sacks. It led to a similarly poor interception total (16). Other than Schobel’s 6.5 no player even had 3 sacks, putting their young secondary under fire all season. Despite the fact that they have been competitive all year most teams out gained them. Tightening up on the defensive end should help that problem. Harvey has gained a head of steam in his march towards the top 10.

<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

41) Buffalo – TE Fred Davis (USC)
The tragic injury to Kevin Everett has created a hole at tight end. How desperate are they? The team signed Teyo Johnson, a second round bust with Oakland who caught 26 passes over three seasons from 2003-2005. Then they went back to the Raiders for a player so good (Courtney Anderson) they dumped him on Detroit and Atlanta where he played 4 games last year without catching a pass. Did they learn nothing from watching Doug Jolley waste away with the Jets after he was traded there from Oakland? Somewhere Rickey Dudley is working on his comeback and hoping the Bills give him a look. Anyway, as a team Buffalo had just 12 TD passes all year. Robert Royal and Michael Gaines were both part of the passing game, but now Gaines is gone to Detroit and another threat would upgrade their offense. Davis is physically gifted and was very productive in his senior year with three games over 110 yards while leading the Trojans in receiving overall following the departures of Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarrett.

72) Buffalo – WR Jordy Nelson (Kansas State)
They hope to have solved their weakness at defensive tackle with the acquisition of Marcus Stroud (Jaguars) to team up with John McCargo and Kyle Williams because let’s face it this team has been run over for the past three seasons. The Bills need someone who doesn’t look like the lost Smurf to play wide receiver. The really big guys Kelly, Sweed and Hardy are gone, but even at 6’2” Nelson is an upgrade in the height department over Josh Reed, Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish. He has three inches on all of them. They need a defined outside receiver who can join Evans in the starting lineup. Reed and Parrish can then see time in three or four receiver looks. Thankfully the Peerless Price homecoming is over after he caught just 7 passes in four games. Nelson has great athleticism as a former high school track star and is coming off a monster senior season. He has some toughness and is a decent blocker.

113) Buffalo – CB Chevis Jackson (LSU)
Youboty (corner) Whitner and Simpson (safeties) all have two years under their belt with varied results. Another DB gives them a potentially solid group for the future. Their pass defense needs help although some of the blame falls on that terrible rush. Tim McGee replaced Nate Clements as their #1, but there is room for competition with Jabari Greer on the other side. They thought they were adding a nickel when they signed Jerametrius Butler who was just cut.

130) Buffalo (compensatory) – OLB Brian Kehl (BYU)
Even after adding Kawika Mitchell the Bills could be looking for some help at outside linebacker. His slow 40 time at the combine dropped his stock from the 40’s and honestly he probably won’t drop this far, but he might. The lack of interest in Lance Briggs, who stayed in Chicago, certainly indicates not that many teams are dying for help at outside linebacker.

148) Buffalo – FS David Roach (TCU)
Ko Simpson missed almost the entire season and they will be looking for some depth at safety.

181) Buffalo – C Doug Legursky (Marshall)
The Bills need competition at center.

218) Buffalo – QB Matt Flynn (LSU)
It certainly looks like J.P. Losman has played his last snap for the Bills. They are very thin behind new starter Trent Edwards and will be likely to seek help in free agency as well.

226) Buffalo (via Philadelphia) – P Mike Dragosavich (North Dakota State)
Brian Moorman has been a pretty good punter, but they might be looking to add a little competition after he matched his career low (set as a rookie) with 40.8 yards per punt. He did put 30 of his 81 punts inside the 20 though.

No chance Miami spends a 2nd on a QB, unless we trade JT for a 2nd and we have three 2nd round picks. Even then, I think it's unlikely.

This guy has way too much time on his hands. I think he hit the nail on the head about the pass rush.

Does anyone think Nelson can start from Day 1? I like it then.
