The two sides, however, remain far apart on a new deal. Culpepper is entering the final year of his current deal with the team. Team owner Red McCombs said he’s hopeful Culpepper will sign an extension, but noted there is not a timetable set for him to do so. “Things are slow right now, but we’ll keep working on it,” McCombs said.
