I hate to say it, but Gholston makes a ton of sense for them. They need pass rush help, and he could be a prototype 3-4 edge rusher.

Vernon Gholston.

Here comes the first "reach" pick in the draft if it goes down like this...

Derrick Harvey DE/LB more fitted for the 3-4 system than Gholston.

Gholston. I think they would love if Mcfadden fell to them though.

You'll have to give me some more here on this one. Harvey recently bulked up to over 270 and looks like the one of the two who is more likely to stay as a DE over becoming a 3-4 hybrid.

He bulked up so he isn't typecast into being only that typical 3-4 hybrid player. Considering obviously a lot less teams play the 3-4 than 4-3. He's doing it to keep his options open on draft day.

I just think overall he's a better fit in the 3-4 than Gholston.

I saw a lot of Gholston's play during the year and very limited amounts of Harvey in action though. But I really question how well Gholston is going to do at the next level and would personally stay away from him on draft day. Seems to be a guy who doesn't fully grasp what's going on around him but makes up for it with his freakish athletic ability. But that's just my opinion.

I have a strong feeling that Atlanta is going to upset the apple cart by taking McFadden instead of Ryan at 3, and Ryan falls to the Jets at 6.

Why though? They just signed Micheal Turner and they have Jerious Norwood. Unless they plan to dump Norwood I dont see where McFadden fits in.

No Way.

They didnt pay a ****load of money for Michael Turner to take McFadden. Plus, they already have a similar kind of runner in J. Norwood to back him up.

On top of that, their owner is DESPERATE to build a new image after the Vick stuff, the Petrino fiasco, D. Hall, etc etc. McFadden isn't exactly known as a high character guy these days.

I don't know how the Top 6 will play out, but ATlanta not taking McFadden is the one thing you can bet on.

BTW.. Based on how this board has played out, Gholsten is an easy pick for the Jets.

Has anyone ever thought of the Falcons taking Gholston? Didnt they just let go of defensive talent? I would love to get Gholston!!

They wont take Gholston they still have Abraham and they have last years 1st Round DE in Jamaal Anderon. Also at LB they have Micheal Boley and last years pick Stephen Nicholas who they like alot. Why would they take Gholston?

The Falcons needs are at DT not DE. But unless Dorsey falls to them, they are likely to address their QB or LT needs 1st...
