    Offseason power rankings

Oakland may have thrown money around, but it doesn't translate to respect in the offseason power rankings.

    2. New England Patriots (16-0) –Fernando Bryant should be a nice little reclamation project. But losing talent in that secondary year after year is going to hurt this defense (haven’t we heard that before?).

    19. Buffalo Bills (7-9) – The Bills could be a playoff team with the return of Paul Posluszny and the additions of Marcus Stroud and Kawika Mitchell. But you have to be able to score to advance in the AFC, and Trent Edwards has a lot of development ahead.

    22. New York Jets (4-12) –Alan Faneca, Jesse Chatman and Calvin Pace are all respectable additions. The jury is still out on Damien Woody, Kris Jenkins and Bubba Franks. But if Kellen Clemens can’t turn the corner, the Jets are in for another long season.

    31. Miami Dolphins (1-15) – I’d rather have Bill Parcells coaching my team than sitting in the front office and tinkering with the roster. Too bad he has the No. 1 pick in a flat draft. Don’t count out Vernon Gholston in that spot.

It's a long, long training camp and pre season... Not to mention the 17 weeks of regular season. Given Trent's track record, JP's likely to see plenty of action. Maybe you should consider supporting him.

19 is about right. we are not a playoff team yet. we are a playoff hopeful. until our offense can do more than kick a few fg's each game we're going to stay that way.

True. So does anyone actually know how much he(JP) will play in preseason?

I think we will finish higher. And, I think the Vikings will too. And, for some reason, I just assumed the Pats would be #1.

Is that power rankings for best offseason or best team with offseason?

Trent was named the starter. It isn't exactly a secret.

I agree. As a Bills fan, I like to think the Bills are better than that, but if you're looking at the league as a whole and dealing with cold hard facts, the Bills are going to have to earn their way up the rankings.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

(H)ype doesn’t translate when it comes to the offseason power rankings. With that in mind, this is where the league’s 32 teams stand going into the NFL draft.

Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
