CB JAMES WILL COMPETE FOR STARTING ROLE: He's been a starter before and he'll have the chance to land a starting role again with the Bills. Now that James has officially signed Buffalobills.com confirmed that he is viewed as more than a subpackage corner. He will compete, presumably with Jabari Greer, primarily for the starting right cornerback job.
“We feel strongly that he can compete for a starting job and he’ll have that opportunity as everybody does here,” head coach Dick Jauron told Buffalobills.com. “Whoever wins it gets it.”
James started six games last season for Philadelphia, but those came mainly in relief of Lito Sheppard who suffered with injuries last year. Prior to last season James started 39 games for the Giants as an entrenched starter.
