(April 13, 2003 2:02 p.m. EDT) - Sitcom writers couldn't have dreamed up a funnier set of circumstances than those emerging out of Tampa Bay this week.
First, a story that appeared in The Cincinnati Post on Wednesday raised the possibility of Bucs All-Pro defensive tackle Warren Sapp going to the Bengals. The story quoted an NFL source as saying the Bucs and Bengals had discussions concerning Cincinnati's No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and a possible trade with Tampa Bay.
Bengals first-year head coach Marvin Lewis laughed at the idea and questioned where the information came from and the validity of it.
Sapp, no doubt, wasn't laughing at all.
Let's see. The guy spent eight years anchoring a Buccaneers defense that grew into one of the best in history over a sustained period of time, capping it off with the first Super Bowl victory in franchise history two month ago in San Diego....more (http://www.sportserver.com/football/nfl/story/852665p-5975764c.html)
