(April 13, 2003 2:02 p.m. EDT) - Sitcom writers couldn't have dreamed up a funnier set of circumstances than those emerging out of Tampa Bay this week.

First, a story that appeared in The Cincinnati Post on Wednesday raised the possibility of Bucs All-Pro defensive tackle Warren Sapp going to the Bengals. The story quoted an NFL source as saying the Bucs and Bengals had discussions concerning Cincinnati's No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and a possible trade with Tampa Bay.

Bengals first-year head coach Marvin Lewis laughed at the idea and questioned where the information came from and the validity of it.

Sapp, no doubt, wasn't laughing at all.

Let's see.
