what are your opinions on our picks???? curious to see who everyone thinks the bills will take with there first 3 rounds in the draft. it could go so many different ways and with jp losman possibly a draft day trade, curious to see what happens.... my picks are as follows...
1. bills take mike jenkins CB USF
1 b. the bills trade with minnisota jp losman and our 2nd to move into the first and select limas sweed WR TEXAS with our second first round pick
3. john carlson TE N.D.
let me know your opinions?

I would love to get into the late first round in addition to our number 11 pick. I think you're right with the popular choice being CB and then snaggin our WR later on. I am big on Sweed... He is a big physical go up and get the ball kind of guy... just what the bills need. I will be happy with our draft if we get him somehow.

I could see the Bills trading down this year, but since it is so hard to predict... I won't.
1) Harvey
2) Hardy/Keller or Bennett
3) Bennett, Nelson or Carlson

I don't like the idea of trading Losman because the odds are that Trent is going to get injured some time during this season. If Trent gets hurt, who do we have behind him? You better believe this is the reason why Losman hasn't been dealt.

i think there is enough serviseable backups out there that we can get a back up if we deal jp. tim rattay is out there and so is tim hasselback among others, they are decent backups, i mean there is no sense in bringing in a big name guy cause the bills are not going to pay a guy 2.5-3 million dollars to back up trent. i just have a feeling that the bills are going to make a play to get a WR and CB in round one, and then have one of the top 2 TEs in round 2

1. WR Devin Thomas/Michigan State (no trade down, either)- Great size/speed ratio; Edwards' exceptional timing on his throws coupled with Thomas' ability to run and make plays in space sell the Bills on the pick, too
2. TE Martellus Bennett/Texas A&M- Competent receiver AND blocker; great size, nice frame, soft hands; NFL-ready despite skipping senior season
3. DE/OLB Marcus Howard- The Bills need to generate a better rush up front; Howard is sublime w/his blazing speed (4.40 forty). Howard will be used purely as a pass-rushing specialist in year one; he's undersized at just 239 pounds but can bulk up 10 pounds w/o sacrificing speed to become similar to Colts' starting DE Robert Mathis in the Cover 2

I think the following positions are pretty safe going into day one:
QB
RB
OL
DL (maybe not, but based on what we have invested, I don't see it)
LB
S
IMO, the positions we need help at the most, in order, are:
1. WR
2. TE
3. CB
Considering we run the Cover 2 and there are no WRs worth the #11, I say we trade down (Dallas would be ideal... if they were willing, but there are other possibilities out there) and take the three best of the positions above with our day one picks. Then we can go BPA the rest of the way.
With this path in mind, I'd imagine we get one each of the following:
Kelly, Sweed or Thomas
Davis, Carlson or Keller
Cason, Porter or maybe Flowers
Malcolm Kelly, Fred Davis and Antoine Cason, in that order, would be a best-case scneario IMO. I could honestly say we would deserve a near perfect score for this offseason if we could get those three on day one.

Throwing darts like everyone but if we're picking at #11, I doubt it will be a WR or TE. I know that's not a popular opinion but we'll get those in Rounds 2,3,4.
CB Jenkins is a good guess & I'd be fine with him. So is McKelvin of Troy. DE Merling of Clemson can slide inside on certain packages and is uber talented. If somehow DT Ellis of USC drops, he's the pick.
I have a feeling a lot of WR's we envision to be 1st rounders will still be there in Round 2. Lots of TE's to chose from in Rounds 3-4.
I'll wait until the last pick on Sunday to review the entire body of work, instead of just freaking over the 1st round pick.

we don't need a backup. if worst comes to worst the bills can put B. Moorman in at QB... i mean anyone can handle the snap and hand it off to marshawn. who needs to throw the ball? its not like we could do it last year anyways.

I think we to the trade up thing with jp and our second
1. Mike Jenkins
1. Limas Sweed
3. That QB Josh or Joe Johnson cant remember his first name to back up trent
4. owen schimdt
and from there we get the best available TE and a decent center and maybe another WR like Marcus Monk or Urruita or w.e

We will trade down... Somebody is going to want Derrick Harvey (if he is still there). There are only 2-3 DE's and a big fall off after there are gone. If we stay at 11 I think the pick is Harvey...

Its Josh Johnson,
Not a Mike Jenkins fan by any means.
Frankly, Id rather have Devin Thomas at 11 than either McKelvin or Jenkins.
At 11, if its a CB, I want DRC. If hes gone, go WR or trade down.
