    Question for you...

If Dan Marino (in his prime) and I are both throwing to a guy who can't catch, who will have better stats? And, who is the better QB?

Im sure you would be picked more often and Marino is the better qb unless your real name is Young, Montana, Favre, or Elway... even then I think Marino is the better pure passer.

Marino is the better QB but the stats will be the same if the same receiver consistently drops passes for both of you.

Marino would likely do a better job of finding other receivers. And in any case he would have fewer turnovers, increasing his team's chances of winning.

            You

Your passes while less accurate, and less consistent will likely be easier for a crappy handed WR to catch compared to Marino's bullets.

Wouldn't he then be locking on to only one?

                Good Answer!
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Depends on how fast you could see who else was open and if you could avoid giving up big plays with errors (sacks, fumble, ints, etc.).

No, looking for other receivers is the opposite of locking onto one.

BINGO. Could our lack of talent at wideout be a reason why JP's and TE's numbers, althought they are in JP's favor, are even close? Despite the fact JP is more talented?

Considering you will probably hit that open receiver one time out of ten, Marino would have better stats.

Not if there are only two on the field. And, when there are three, two suck.

                            How? The receiver can't catch.

He still has a better chance to catch nine balls that hit him in the chest then the one ball your gonna get to him.
