The question: If you decide that picking a WR at #11 is too big of a reach, and decide to wait until the second round, will we be left with anybody decent?
Let's look at WRs with potential first round grades:
Malcolm Kelly
Limas Sweed
DeSean Jackson
James Hardy
Devin Thomas
Mario Manningham
And going down the list, here are the teams who has WR needs:
11. Buffalo - assume we wait until second round
14. Chicago - needs OL more than anything else
17. Minnesota - needs DE/OL before WR
19. Philadelphia - potentially 1st WR taken
20. Tampa Bay - potentially 2nd WR taken
22. Dallas - potentially 3rd WR taken here or at 28
24. Tennessee - potentially 4th WR taken
28. Dallas - already got one at 22
29 San Francisco - potentially 5th WR taken
34. Atlanta - these guys have a lot of needs, OL/DL included
35. Kansas City - MIGHT get a WR here but more likely a CB or OL
37. Atlanta - if they pass on a WR at 34 they would take one here
39. San Francisco - already got one at 29
Thats all 6 of the WRs with 1st round grades gone by #35. So if we want to wait until 2nd round, we will either have to get lucky or trade up ahead of at the latest Atlanta at 37 (with either KC at 35 or Jets at 36, or better yet, back into the late first round.
That's all there is to it.
