NBHS student finds a war correspondent of his own
By RACHEL BOUDREAU, Standard-Times correspondent

Bedford High School senior Brian Harrington has an e-mail pal across the ocean.

The Internet brought him and Jaber Al-Sabah, a Kuwait resident, together even as war was raging in Iraq.
The two students met via a Buffalo Bills football team Web site. Mr. Al-Sabah, 20, is a college student at Kuwait University and follows the Bills.

"When I heard where Jaber was from, I didn't believe it," Mr. Harrington said. "But after talking to him I knew it was true because he would know things that were happening before we heard them on the news. He also sent me a newspaper article about himself with a picture."

So began the friendship between American and Arab.
Mr. Harrington then decided an interview about the war would be something he could share with his classmates.
Once Mr. Al-Sabah agreed, the high school student peppered his Kuwaiti friend with questions about how he feels about the United States, Saddam Hussein and the current war.

This is my favorite part:

Brian has stayed in close contact with Mr. Al-Sabah over the past few months. Although very busy with school and porno, Brian spends as much time as he can on the Buffalo Bills Fan site gathering information about the war.

I know nothing around here stays on track very long- but can we put aside our differences just once and concentrate on the matter at hand?

Ok- back to business. Should I add another kleenex box to the pic?

If I recall, the building opened in 73 or 74. So they were probably together at one time and then seperated.

Hey Patrick- aren't you 29? That explains a lot :D :jk:

27. Close, I'm a sooner. My parents were married in September 75 and I was born 7 months later. Strange. Actually, I know they got engaged on Valentines day 1975 so at least they were planning on getting married.

At least, that's what they tell me. Anyway, they're still together so I guess that counts for something.

It’s a lot of fun. We get to hang out. Me and my brother (25) would have our friends over when we were 18 and 19 and he’d be hanging out with us. You know drinking “soda” and stuff. I had the cool parents. All of my friends love my old man.
