Before somebody goes off and calls me a homer and has a stroke over this, I am not making a prediction or guarentee. Nor am I saying the situations are the same. Take it for what it is.

I saw this elsewhere.

Habs:

68-69: Presidents trophy
69-70: Miss playoffs
70-71: Stanley Cup champions

Rangers:

91-92: Presidents trophy
92-93: Miss playoffs
93-94: Stanley Cup champions

Those 2 examples are also the only times in the modern era that a team missed the playoffs after winning the presidents trophy.

As you can see Doc, there are people here that are happier when ours teams are bad, if they won it all, they wouldn't have anyone or anything to ***** about. What am I saying they would ***** that the margin of victory wasn't big enough and it was the coach, GM or owners fault. Please stop trying to see things optimistically!

I guess this is for you to RockStar36! :;

I believe those first 2 teams had a FO that was commited to winning the cup.

still the point is valid

its at least possible these sabres needed to learn a very tough lesson

i mean cmon is there anybody that would dispute they got into a pattern where they thought they could turn it on when they wanted to?

maybe missing the playoffs will be the cold slap in the face they needed

get over yourselves. youre good but youre not that good. you need to work like dogs every period

remember the pain

Vanek's response to the season is encouraging, but we won't know a dam thing until next year.

They will be fine next year. I'm sure of it. Top 5 in the conference.
