Haggan tested positive under the illegal substance program. He claims it was a over-the-counter dietary supplement that had a banned substance. He faces a 4-game suspension.

I don't think the Bills were bringing him back, anyway. This probably seals the deal.

Too bad, I liked him and always cheered him on before kickoffs when he got the crowd pumped up.

He was trying to get as skinny as Schobel.

Yeah, Schobel plays it right. Putting your finger down your throat doesn't constitute as an illegal weight loss substance.

I still hope we resign him. He was a great 4th LB for us at times and solidifies our depth w/ DiG and ellison. i really liked his response to the suspension.

Easily replaceable in the 4th or 5th round. I didn't expect him back anyway.

Crap, I really think that sucks. He was seriously our best short yardage WOLB last year, and I anticipated him coming back on the cheap.

Oh well, he is a goner.

Oh well. Such is life in the NFL.

I don't buy any 'over the counter' excuses by anybody. You're making buku bucks, you know your job depends on staying clean...Read a god-damn label or do a little research.

I wouldn't say that so easily. I actually thought he was going to go sign a modest contract with NE. I'd like him back, even if he misses 4 games. Certainly more valuable than some of the ERFAs and RFA we brought back. (Massaquoi? 5th TE?)

Not to mention that the NFL and NFLPA make available a list of "approved" supplements for players, so they don't even need to do the research. They just need to check the list.
