How can you forecast a record based on a april schedule?

Don’t some of you people ever learn about forecasting how a team is going to be based when their schedule comes out in Mid April?

Everyone thinks we have an “easy” schedule based on last year. It seems we have some cake games early on against Oakland, St. Louis and Arizona. The Jets and Miami surely will suck again, there’s another 4 wins. The 49ers are brutal, Kansas City stinks and we get Cleveland at home in prime time. That’s 10 wins right there, no?

Well teams change A LOT in one season. Teams go from worst to first every season. DID EVERYONE forget already how “hard” the first half of our schedule was “supposed” to be last year? I mean, we had the Jets twice, coming off a playoff birth the year before. We had Baltimore, who was 13-3 the season before, and we had one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL in Cinci.. Turns out all those teams SUCKED..

There is a little stock you can put into a schedule when it’s only April.
    • For purist Bills fans it blows the league (or Wilson?) chose for us to play Miami in Toronto.
    • It’s nice to not have to play NE after their bye.
    • Playing NE at home in Week 17 may end up helping us.

But that’s it.. NOBODY has the first clue here how the Raiders will be, or the Rams, Cards or 49ers. Denver or the Jets and even the Fins for that matter… They’re fans can make the same case we do for the Bills that they’re going to turn it around this year.

you can't really predict it- it's just talk at this point.

I made my predictions as if the season was starting tomorrow- I know a lot will change. But right now, based on the limited information we have, that's what I think we'll happen.

    I'll revise it during pre-season.

So your Bills predictions are like Hillary's stance on policy issues - subject to change nuumerous times without warning?

I totally agree, although it is fun to make guesses.

Until we see what we do in the draft and how we address our WR, CB, DE sitiuations, it is really way to early to know if we'll be good or bad.

You also need to keep in mind just a few injuries can make a good team bad or a bad team able to beat a good one, you never know.

its just fun to take a wild guess. Its not like people are laying money down saying "i bet you 500 bucks this is exactly how our record ends up!"

          at least i hope not.

I'm wondering why people are predicting records now when the home and away opponents have been known for months

things like bye weeks, traveling, road stretches, home stretches, night games, etc have an effect.

You don't think it's significant that we play NE week 17?

11-5 is the number, book it. Playoffs are going to be back, wildcard game in Buffalo against the Titans. Payback time for our last playoff defeat.

oh god... Please don't say "wildcard" and "Titans" in the same sentence- it makes me feel physically ill.

i guess that's better than Ralph's bush Impersonation where things keep getting worse and he tells us to hold on.

Wouldn't that just be the icing on the cake if ralph shows up in toronto during half time with a "mission accomplished" sign.
