In the spirit of last year's post, i'm starting this thread for you to make your claim on who will be a bust before the draft even happens.

Last year i was way wrong picking AP as the big bust. Perhaps over time he'll be, but i don't care. I was just going off the hunch that he'd be consistantly injured.

Anyway, i predict any and all QB's taken in this first round will be busts. Upping the ante, baby!

Matt Ryan. He'll be Alex Smith type bust.

I actually think Matt Ryan is going to be a franchise QB.. If Brohm goes in the first, I'll label him a pre-draft bust...

Im not sold on CB Mike Jenkins or OT Chris Williams... And Im not overly fond of the DE Philip Merling...

I dont think McFadden is going to be a "bust", but I think his teammate, Felix Jones will be just as good as him in the NFL.

A bust ?

After 3-4 years, you can look back and label 15-18 of them busts for each draft.

That's why I laugh when people label certain players " a beast " or a certain star. We have NO idea how their college performance will translate to the pro's. Huge step up in class with $$ clouding the brain.

good pick.

I don't think he'll be a complete bust, but I think he'll get eaten alive for a year or two before settling down and becoming solid. He won't be bad, but he won't ever live up to the hype surrounding him right now.

Unless he gets drafted by NE- then he'll make our lives miserable for the next 6 seasons until Washington overpays him.

That's the point of this thread. to let our predraft emotions run wild, and then we proclaim we know the most...then some jerk bumps the post a year from now and some of us are left humbled.

ill go with a much different route answering this question.

any player the bills select not becuz i think they will be bad for sure.

but i know we wont give them a 2nd deal in buffalo so in essence it will be a bust for the franchise no matter how u look at it.

4-5 years and out no matter who we pick the track record is proven.

i know who the last 1st rounder was to get a 2nd deal in buffalo.

can anyone name him?

D-MAC ( This guy is not an every down back, he should be nowhere near the top 10. )
DRC ( Has all the measurables but has played against questionable talent.. Likely a top 10 pick. )
Ryan ( 50/50. )

McFadden, the most overrated player since Reggie Bush.

The hype surrounding Bush was more understandable.. I don't understand all the hype surrounding McFadden though!

just to show that i've been wrong at this for 2 straight years. in 2007 i claimed AP would be a bust and last year i said all the QB's would suck from round 1 and they all seemed to hold their own.

Vernon Gholston is a high bust pick
Jake Long
Chris Long
Dan Connor
Mike Jenkins
Xavier Adibi
James Hardy
Fred Davis

You nailed it with Gholston.... he had only 13 tackles the entire season.

To everyone who called it as Matt Ryan. Ouch. LOL.

I know the jury is still out on McFadden, but he looks pretty good to me.

DRC looks solid as we..

Well Chris Long had four sacks on one of the worst DL in the NFL, Dan Connor hasn't really played, same with Fred Davis.

Cowboys love Mike Jenkins, Adibi was a 3rd rounder (i think) who hasn't played yet.

Really too early to tell.

I think it is a little premature to think these guys are draft busts already. You can maybe say they didn't have a rookie impact, but busts after one year? Even Matt Ryan, it was the first year.

It's pretty safe to call Gholston a bust... the guy was supposed to be amazing... and he recorded 13 tackles?

He's a bust unless he suddenly learns how to play football.

he knows how to play football. he played some hella football at tOSU. needs to step it up for NFL play though

DRC had a very good rookie year, so much so QB's damn near quit throwing to him. Of course Matty "Ice" proved most wrong as well.

Personally id have laughed at Dmac last year but some of you may end up being right we shall see.

he didnt even really play that much, if i recall correctly. all 13 of his tackles came in the last 5 weeks.

Also, with Rex Ryan coming in, I really think he'll know how to utilize Gholston's speed and strength off the edge, which is what he excels at. I think Gholston will have a pretty good 2nd year, unfortunately.

I said Run DMC, and he had a big game or 2, but was banged up a lot and is on a team deep at the RB position. I think he will be a good RB in this league, but not nearly as good as he was made out to be all along before that draft.

If I were here, I would have said Gholston, Matt Ryan, among others. I don't think my predictions were too good.

Pat Moran did pretty well though. He nailed Brohm not doing well, Matt Ryan playing well, and others.

There is no possible way you can say he is a bust after one season. If he does nothing this year you can start saying it is safe to say.

If I were here I would have said Brohm if he were going in the first round. I like the kid, but my pre-draft gut instinct told me he wasnt going to live up to a first round pick.
