Modrak and Brandon on the Draft...

the videos are up at bb.com from the draft luncheon.

he talks about 3 wrs.. devin thomas, jordy nelson, and hardy..

i hope those are the three on their board.

talked about bennett, davis, and keller too. he did say that keller was not an on the line guy.. he was an hback type.. i dont think we are really looking at him since we are going away from the hback.

they mentioned they would be looking for a cornerback for depth too

so im assuming we are going to try to trade down since none of those wr's really warrant a number 11 pick but more of a later 1st round early 2nd type deal

Dude, you heard his responses to questions he was asked without hearing the questions. What if he was asked specifically to comment on each of those players?

I could listen to that stuff all day. I remember two years ago when they did that, Modrak talked about Bunkley and Ngata and the end up picking Whitner, so you never know.

He mentioned how corners go quick and they can get mediocre fast.

I'm hoping for Sweed but I'd still do backflips if we landed Hardy. ( Neither at #11 though, obviously. )

Devin Thomas at 11, after listening to Modrak, 2,590 all purpose yds is no joke boys and girls, that is a solid playmaker, and what do we need most WR, i also think he likes Fred Davis and if he is there in rd 2 we will take him

                      keywords translated for the masses:

"Bubble screen, RAC"--- equates to: situational WR.

"mismatches" -------- equates to: possession WR, redzone threat.

"Great route runner, deceptively fast"----equates to white guy, west coast offense, josh reed, depth.

I have a sneaky feeling that you may see the Bills take Harvey at #11 if they can't trade down. Then they will look in the 2nd for a WR and the type of WR who will be left on the board that fits what they are looking for is........JORDY NELSON! This makes total sense, since none of the big WRs will probably be there when we pick in the 2nd.

I agree with your sneaky feeling.

It sure seemed like they weren't enamored with any WR at 11. If they don't trade down my inkling is that they will take Harvey or DRC/McKelvin. Then hopefully they can grab their tall reciever in the 2nd (Sweed/Nelson/Hardy) and draft their TE in the 3rd/4th round depending on whats there.

he did sound like he was really all about hardy. he talked about how you just cant cover him and how he creates such mismatches all the time. he makes sense.
