Re: Air McNair Calls it Quits

    I always liked McNair.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Looks like the need for a QB just moved up for the Ravens.

Could help McKelvin or DRC be there for the Bills.

        McNair To Retire

Steve McNair will announce his retirement from football at a 1PM ET news conference on Thursday.
The decision would not have surprised in January, but it does now after McNair began working out hard and was projected as Baltimore's starter. It's probably for the best for everyone. McNair's body and game betrayed the old warrior, and he was coming off multiple surgeries. Originally a Houston Oiler, McNair came up just short of a Super Bowl ring, but was the co-MVP in 2003 and finished as a top-ten fantasy option five times. The Ravens can move forward with Kyle Boller, Troy Smith, and a rookie to be named later.

If Ryan makes it past 3, KC at 5 and New Engleand at 7 will be feilding a lot of calls. My prediction is that Carolina moves up tto 7 to grab him.

How is Boller still there ? Amazing. The Raven fans can't stand him.

Baltimore has to draft a QB. Boller is a career backup and Troy Smith is too much of a project.

                  Re: McNair To Retire

Baltimore has never had a QB. McNair is 5 years past his prime, and he took a beating in those Oiler/Tennessee days. Boller and Troy Smith are just plain bad.

probably Billick reads the fanboards over at Ravenszone.com and listens to the three fans who think Boeller is a couple weapons away from being a breakout stud.

This is that big of a surprise. McNair was a warrior on that field Id love to get a QB just like him on my team any day.

McNair was one of the toughest QBs I've seen play the game.

I doubt they would want JP since Boller is pretty similar and they don't want him. I would love to ship JP to Baltimore though just to piss off Willis.

                            McNair retiring

                            Steve McNair is retiring...

The news that Steve McNair decided to retire Thursday came as a little bit of a surprise.

Could this impact how the Ravens draft in front of us? They have Troy Smith who played ok in a few games last year, and Boller. Perhaps they try to get a top QB prospect?
